Subject: Join Us for “New Jobs on the Block” Hiring Event on September 19th!

We are excited to announce our upcoming hiring event, “New Jobs on the Block,” scheduled for September 19th! This unique job fair aims to engage downtown businesses and larger employers, focusing on workforce development and increasing business visibility.

Event Details:

· Event Name: New Jobs on the Block

· Date & Time: September 19th 11am-3pm

· Location: The 400 Block

Purpose: The event seeks to attract the public as well as any job seekers. We’re hoping that by participating, businesses can increase their visibility and connect with potential job seekers. We welcome any area businesses that are hoping to hire full-time, part-time, or seasonal employees.

Employer Engagement: To ensure a vibrant and engaging environment, we have reserved the 400 block for the event. We encourage businesses to participate by reserving a table for a $50 registration fee, which will cover marketing and rental costs. Downtown businesses are encouraged to share their current and future hiring needs, so that we can include that in marketing materials and day of event signage. Any business that is hiring is welcome to reserve a spot on the square.

Marketing and Outreach: We plan to leverage the Job Center of Wisconsin’s resources, the Wausau Chamber’s marketing resources, including email blasts and a joint-hosted Facebook event, to promote “New Jobs on the Block.” Registration fees will also help us offset the costs of a marketing campaign through local radio and social media.

Engaging the Public: Wausau area businesses and downtown area businesses can engage the public and job seekers by offering interactive activities, giveaways, and on-the-spot interviews. DWD will also have their mobile careers lab on hand. This will not only attract more attendees but also create a dynamic and engaging atmosphere.

What you should bring: Employers participating on the square should bring chairs (table provided), canopy (no staking allowed—weights only), company marketing literature, and staff to speak with job seekers.

Refreshments: Snacks and water will be provided for employers. There is a plan for a food truck to be onsite with food available for purchase. We will be working with downtown area restaurants to plan day of event specials.

Event Planners: Event is being put together by the North Central Wisconsin Workforce Development Board along with our workforce partner agencies at Wisconsin DWD, Forward Service Corporation, CW Solutions, and the Greater Wausau Chamber of Commerce.
